The saying goes “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, but for this Northwestern team, that Las Vegas Bowl trophy will be leaving Vegas and putting up permanent residence in Evanston. The Cats rode on the backs of the Defense and a gutsy performance from Ben Bryant and the Offense to grind out a 14-7 win over Utah. For the second consecutive season Purdue came to Welsh-Ryan arena sporting the #1 ranking. For the second consecutive season Northwestern knocked them off their perch. For the second consecutive season the students swarmed the floor after the final horn to celebrate. Tonight we bask in the glory of what may be the greatest game a Northwestern Basketball player has ever played in the Purple and White as Boo Buie went off for 31 points, 9 assists and 0 turnovers.
