2024 Previews: Conference Opponents Part 1

Week 4: Conference play begins with newcomer Washington! The same uniforms featured in last year’s the National Championship game, but in reality that’s pretty much the only thing that is the same for the Huskies. All new conference, head coach, their entire starting lineup, etc. It’ll definitely be interesting to watch them adjust to their new reality.

Week 5: We haven’t seen Indiana in a while, but they made what many feel to be the best coaching hire of the offseason: Curt Cignetti comes to Bloomington with a bunch of his staff & several players from James Madison, but will he be able to turn things around in year 1?

Week 6: Maryland has some good things and some bad things going for/against them this year. Taulia is gone. That’s bad. They’re not in the Big Ten East anymore. That’s good. They have to travel out to Oregon. That’s bad. They skip Michigan and Ohio State this year. That’s good. What will that mean for this season and for Coach Locksley?

Week 7: Finally, in our 7th game, we find a familiar Big Ten West foe. In year 1 under Luke Fickell, Wisconsin underwent a drastic change offensively and introduced a new defensive brain trust in Madison. It did not go as well for them as they’d have liked, winding up 7-6. Will year 2 be any better for the Badgers?

Week 8: Following Iowa in 2023 was a raucous affair, and the Hawkeyes enter 2024 having finally cut ties with Brian Ferentz for a new OC. The Hawkeye D again looks like a behemoth that will dominate the conference. Will their O bring anything to the table this season? Can they maintain their standing in the conference?
